The scope

What every retail visit covers. Front to back.

This is the routine visit. Your scope lists each area, each task and how often, and when the visit runs around your trading hours.

  • Shop floor cleaned to suit the surface
  • Counters, displays and shelf edges dusted
  • Mirrors and fitting rooms wiped down
  • Entry doors and the inside of the front glass
  • Staff room and washroom cleaned
  • Bins emptied and liners replaced

How we do it

Done while the shop is shut. Dry when it opens.

Before trading

Top down, floor last.

Shelves, displays and counters are dusted before the floor is touched, so nothing falls onto a clean floor. The floor goes last, with time to dry before the doors open. Visits run after close or early in the morning, around deliveries and your lock-up.

What customers see

Glass and mirrors without streaks.

Entry doors, the inside of the front glass, mirrors and display cases collect handprints all day. They're cleaned with lint-free cloths, and a squeegee where the glass allows. Frosted film is never bladed, and acrylic mirrors get a dry microfibre only, so neither scratches.

Underfoot

The floor decides the method.

Shop floors take trolleys, wet shoes and tracked-in grit. Tile and vinyl get a machine scrub on a schedule. Safety vinyl is scrubbed, never just mopped, because a mop leaves soil in the grip. Polished slip-rated concrete is cleaned and buffed but never sealed.

      Questions

      Retail cleaning: questions.

Can you clean before we open in the morning?

Yes. Early visits suit shops and showrooms that close late or take deliveries at night. We agree a finish time on the walk-through, so the floor is dry and the glass is done before staff arrive to open up. After-close visits work the same way.

How often does a shop need cleaning?

It follows foot traffic. A busy store usually needs daily visits, or several a week, for floors, counters, bins and the washroom. A quieter showroom may only need a weekly or fortnightly clean, with floor scrubs and glass on a monthly schedule. The walk-through sets the starting frequency.

Can you deep clean an old vinyl or tile shop floor?

Yes, as a one-off or on a schedule. Older vinyl and tile usually need a machine scrub to lift the soil a mop leaves in the texture, and some vinyl needs a strip and re-coat. We check the floor first and tell you which it needs. More on hard floors.

Do you clean display cases and fitting rooms?

Yes. Counters and display cases are dusted and the glass cleaned on each visit, without moving stock unless you ask. Fitting rooms get the mirrors, hooks, seats and floor. If a case holds high-value stock, we agree what stays locked and who opens it.

What about wet weather and a slippery entry?

Rain brings water and grit through the door, and the entry is where slips happen. Mats are vacuumed and the entry floor is cleaned on every visit, with signs out while it dries. If your entry needs an extra visit through winter, it can be added to the scope.

Can you pressure clean the paving out the front?

Yes, where the paving is yours to clean. Shopfront paving and entries can be pressure cleaned after trading, as a one-off or on a schedule. If the council or the centre manages the footpath, we check what's allowed before we put it in the scope.
