The scope

What a window clean includes. Every time.

This is the standard clean. Your scope lists the glass, inside and out, and how often, so you can check every visit against it.

Every window clean

  • Internal glass washed and squeegeed
  • Frames, sills and tracks wiped
  • Entry doors and glass partitions, both sides
  • External glass from the ground or a water-fed pole
  • Towels laid under internal panes
  • Glass checked for smears in daylight

Common schedule

  • Entry doors and shopfront glassWeekly or fortnightly
  • Internal partitions and glass wallsMonthly
  • External glass, low-riseQuarterly
  • Fly screens out, washed and refittedOn request

How we do it

The glass decides the tool. So does the height.

Outside, above the ground floor

A water-fed pole and purified water.

The pole carries purified water up to a soft brush, so glass on low-rise buildings is cleaned from the ground with no ladders against it. Purified water has nothing in it to leave spots, so the glass dries clear without a squeegee.

At street level

Squeegeed by hand.

Shopfronts and ground-floor glazing are washed and squeegeed by hand, frames and sills included. Glass with frosted or decorative film is washed with a soft cloth and never bladed, because a scraper will lift the film or score it.

Clean glazed office entry doors

Inside

Doors, partitions and glass walls.

Internal glass picks up hand marks at door height and dust along the frames. We wash both sides, wipe the tracks and sills, and lay a towel under each pane so the floor and the sills stay dry.

Every visit, on the record.

Questions

Window cleaning: questions.

How high can you clean?

We clean glass we can reach safely from the ground or a pole, on low-rise buildings. That covers most shopfronts, offices, childcare centres and two-storey buildings. Taller buildings need specialist access, and we don't take that work on. The walk-through settles which panes are in the scope and which are not.

Will the floor get wet when you clean the inside?

No. A towel goes under each internal pane, and the squeegee pulls the water down onto it rather than onto the sill or the carpet. Anything that does drip is wiped up before we move to the next window.

Do you clean the frames and sills?

Yes. Frames, sills and tracks are part of every window clean, inside and out. Dust and insects collect in the tracks, and clean glass in a dirty frame still looks dirty. Tracks that have built up for years can take longer on the first visit, and the scope says so.

Can you clean fly screens?

Yes. Fly screens are taken out, washed and refitted. They sit as a separate line in the scope because they take extra time, so you can choose to include them every visit or only once or twice a year.

We have heritage windows. Is that a problem?

No, they just get a softer approach. Old timber sashes, leadlight and original glass are cleaned with a mild solution and a soft cloth, and no scraper touches the glass or the putty. Any loose or cracked panes are photographed and noted before we start.

Book the window clean. We'll walk the building first.

A 15-minute walk-through to see the glass, the access and the hours, then a written scope with the price.
