Gym and fitness cleaning

The floor takes the weight. And the sweat.

Gyms, fitness studios and martial arts gyms, cleaned when the floor is quiet. Rubber gets a pH-neutral cleaner, equipment touch points are done every visit, and change rooms are scrubbed, not just mopped.

The scope

What a gym clean includes. Every visit.

This is the standard clean. Your scope lists the zones, the floor types and how often, so you can check every visit against it.

Every gym clean

  • Equipment touch points: grips, pins, seats, screens
  • Rubber and studio floors
  • Change rooms and showers
  • Toilets cleaned and restocked
  • Mirrors and entry glass
  • Reception, bins and water fountains

Common schedule

  • Change room tile and grout scrubMonthly
  • Rubber floor deep scrubQuarterly
  • Carpet and mat extractionQuarterly
  • High dusting, fans and ventsQuarterly

How we do it

Every floor gets its own method. Every zone gets its own cloth.

Rubber and concrete

pH-neutral on rubber, a scrub on concrete.

Rubber tiles hold sweat and chalk in their texture, and a harsh or solvent cleaner dries them out. So rubber gets a pH-neutral cleaner every visit and a deep scrub each quarter. Polished concrete walkways get a machine scrub and a rinse, with the dirty water picked up, not left to dry in.

Change rooms

Showers get scrubbed, not just mopped.

Soap scum and body oil settle into shower tiles and grout, and a mop spreads them around. Change rooms get a machine scrub every month, and a red-cloth clean every visit: toilets, basins, benches, locker fronts and the shower walls.

Before the doors open

Wet work happens when it's empty.

Tile and concrete scrubs are booked overnight or in your quietest hours. The area is coned off while it's wet and dry before the first member walks in. Equipment touch points are done last, with blue cloths kept for the gym floor, so nothing from the change rooms reaches a bench.

      Questions

      Gyms and fitness: questions.

      Do you clean the equipment?

The touch points, yes: grips, handles, pins, seats, pads and screens, every visit, with a product that suits the finish. Members' wipe-downs between sets stay with you. Servicing, upholstery repairs and anything inside a machine stay with your equipment supplier.

How often should a gym be cleaned?

Most gyms with members in every day need a daily clean of the floors, change rooms, toilets and touch points. Smaller studios often run two or three visits a week. Rubber, tile and grout scrubs sit on top as monthly or quarterly tasks. The walk-through sets it zone by zone.

Is it priced by the hour or by the job?

By the job. The walk-through sets the zones, the floor types and the visits per week, and the written scope prices that work per visit or per week. If you want equipment or a recovery room added later, it goes into the scope as its own line.

Can you do a once-off clean of the rubber floor and mirrors?

Yes. A once-off scrub of the rubber flooring with a pH-neutral cleaner, plus the mirrors and glass, is booked for a time the gym is closed or quiet. Many gyms then keep the floor scrub in a contract as a quarterly task.

Do you clean saunas and recovery rooms?

The rooms, yes: floors, benches, walls and glass, with the sauna off and cool. Sauna timber gets only the method its supplier recommends. Heaters, ice baths and their plant stay with your service technician.

We only need the toilets and kitchen done. Is that enough?

Yes. A scope can be as small as the washrooms and the kitchen, with the mats and floors left to you. It's written down and logged the same way as a full clean, and it can grow later if you want it to.

We look at the floors, the change rooms and your quiet hours, then send a written scope with the price.
