The scope

What a carpet clean includes. Every time.

This is the standard clean. Your scope lists the rooms, the method and how often, so you can check every visit against it.

Every carpet clean

  • Commercial vacuum, edges included
  • Pre-spray on entries and traffic lanes
  • Spot treatment for coffee, ink and gum
  • Extraction or low-moisture clean
  • Chairs and small furniture moved and put back
  • Pile groomed and fans set for drying

Common schedule

  • Entry mats and walk-off zonesMonthly
  • Traffic lanes and corridorsQuarterly
  • Full extraction, wall to wallEvery 6 to 12 months
  • Deodorise and sanitiseOn request

How we do it

The method follows the carpet. Not the other way round.

Before anything gets wet

We look at the carpet first.

Fibre, backing, colour-fastness and how the room dries decide the method. Solution-dyed nylon tiles take hot-water extraction well. Wool and natural fibres often don't, and some are dry-clean only.

Where it's dirtiest

Extraction for the traffic lanes.

Hot water and a rinse flush out the soil that vacuuming leaves behind: the grey paths between desks, the doorway, the stretch in front of the bar.

Where it's busy

Done after you close.

Most commercial carpet is cleaned at night or on a weekend, with fans running, so people walk in to a dry, clean floor and nothing in their day moves.

Questions

Carpet cleaning: questions.

Do you vacuum before you clean?

Every time. Dry soil is most of the dirt in a commercial carpet, and it has to come out before any water or chemical goes down, or it turns to mud in the fibre.

How long until we can walk on it?

It depends on the method, the carpet and the air in the room. Low-moisture cleaning is usually walkable the same day. Extraction is done after hours with fans running so the floor is ready by morning. We tell you which you're getting before we start.

Will the old stains come out?

Most coffee, food and traffic marks do. Some don't: bleach spots, dye transfer and old rust are colour loss, not dirt. We test and tell you which is which before we start, so nobody's surprised.

Can carpet cleaning be part of our regular contract?

Yes. Entry mats monthly, traffic lanes quarterly and a full extraction every six to twelve months is a common pattern. They sit in the scope as scheduled tasks, and they show up in the visit record when they're done.

Is there any carpet you won't wet-clean?

Yes. Natural-fibre carpets such as goat-hair Tretford, sisal and some wool blends are dry-cleaned only. Wet extraction can shrink or brown them. We check the label or a sample first.

Do you clean carpets at home?

Yes, through our home bookings site. Prices are per room and shown up front: book.jccommercial.com.au.
